Unpacking Provincial Disease Strategies:
Panel Discussion:
Optimizing coalition functioning
The Heart Health Resource Centre, RBJ Health Management Associates and the Ontario Prevention Clearinghouse (OPC) partnered to offer community practitioners an interactive, practical and informative workshops focusing on the core elements that enable a coalition to florish and thrive. Regional workshops took place in a variety of locations throughout Ontario from October 2001 to January 2002.
Each workshop opened with an overview of what the research reveals in the way of what makes coalitions function effectively. Presented next, was a provincial overview of Ontario Heart Health Program coalitions from the provincial evaluation. Three integrated sessions then picked up on the research and evaluation results, sharing tips and strategies on how to optimize critical aspects of coalition functioning: Composition, process and evolution.
